WEEKLY  PARTIES

Dance Obsession believes in the social aspect of dancing so we offer weekly parties...and they are FUN!!  The atmosphere is friendly, the music is a great mix of ballroom and Latin music, the dance floor is large and we provide complimentary snacks and drinks.  Parties are great opportunities to...

* practice what you've learned during
  your private lessons,
* dance with other people
  (or just each other, if you prefer),
* get to know other dancers, and
* dance for two hours

Parties are held every Friday immediately following our group class (except when we're at a competition), from 10:00 pm to midnight,  and are open to students and non-students.   Admission charge is $8 for students and $10 for non-students. 

SPECIAL  PARTIES

Even more fun than our weekly parties are our special theme parties, held throughout the year.  Naturally, Christmas, Valentine's Day and Halloween are big parties, we also have parties for:  End of Summer, Crazy T-Shirt, Disco Night, '50's Sock Hop, Beach Days, Pajama Party and lots more. 

SHOWCASES & TROPHY BALLS

We also hold two showcases each year, where students can get their "15 minutes of fame" by dancing a routine specially choreographed for them, to a song of their choice.  These are great opportunities for friends and family to see how far students have progressed.  Our annual trophy ball is a dinner dance where students are honored for their achievements and a professional show is presented.

COMPETITIONS

Dance Obsession offers students the option of participating in ballroom dance competitions.  Competitions are a way to measure achievements, watch  professional and amateur dancers and experience another aspect of dancing. 

We have many students at all levels - newcomers through experienced - who look forward to competitions.  Most of the competitions we attend are located within the tri-state area, so travel expenses are kept low (although we have also attended the largest competitions in the country such as the Ohio Star Ball, the Heritage and the Yankee Classic.)
